Irish Amnesia…

The old joke goes like this this: Question– “What’s the definition of Irish Amnesia? Answer– “You forget everything except the grudges.”

Well, Hillary it seems has a wee bit of a problem when it comes to remembering her involvement in policy matters when she was the wife of the President of the United States of America. Rather than rewind the entire history of her self described “accomplishments” let’s go to todays “History According to Hillary.”

Today, Hillary’s belief that she was a driving force in the Irish peace process has bubbled up to the surface of the MSM’s collective conscience. It seems that Hillary had a bit-o-bad luck this St. Patrick’s Day. Not only did the “30 Seconds over Bosnia” Sniper story come back to bite her, but her “Magical Thinking” about her role in the Irish peace process is, no pun intended, “in their sites.” Here’s what a real Irishman, who was there, has to say:

“It’s crazy for Hillary to say she played a role in bringing peace to Northern Ireland. … She seems to be confusing her record with her husband’s,” said Robin Wilson, founder of a Northern Ireland think tank, Democratic Dialogue.

In a December 2007 interview with ABC News, Clinton said: “In just the last few weeks, the new leaders of the Northern Ireland government, Dr. Ian Paisley and Martin McGuinness, made a special effort to see me. Why? Because I helped in that process, not just standing by and witnessing, but actually getting my hands into it, creating opportunities for people on both sides of the sectarian divide to come together.”

Clinton’s longtime claims to have played a difference-making role in Northern Ireland attracted no criticism until the buildup to St. Patrick’s Day this year. To some ears, her most recent comments have raised a false impression that she helped produce the landmark Good Friday peace accord of 1998. (Full Story)

For Hillary, St. Patrick’s Day is turning out to be more like Groundhog’s Day (The Movie). I just hope that she’s never elected President as I would hate for her to answer the phone at 3:00 am and forget just who are our allies and who is the enemy. DSW

RE: Bosnia Trip 1996- What you say should match what the Videotape record of the event shows… Her handlers tried to spin the story and say the “Sniper Fire” was in the hills around the airfield. (Strike 1) They ran for the Cars with their heads down (Strike 2) There was no greeting party when they landed (Swing and a miss, Strike 3, She’s Out!) Let’s go to the Videotape.

Hillary 2008…Home of the Whopper

Well, she’s at it again! As “Co-President” Hillary recounts her time overseas under sniper fire as she and Sinbad landed at Tuzla airport. It was described at “one of the safest places in Bosnia” in March 1996 and “firmly under the control” of the 1st Armored Division, according to the WaPo story by Michael Dobbs. The story is spun by Hillary like this:

Hillary Clinton has been regaling supporters on the campaign trail with hair-raising tales of a trip she made to Bosnia in March 1996. In her retelling, she was sent to places that her husband, President Bill Clinton, could not go because they were “too dangerous.” When her account was challenged by one of her traveling companions, the comedian Sinbad, she upped the ante and injected even more drama into the story. In a speech earlier this week, she talked about “landing under sniper fire” and running for safety with “our heads down.”

The only shots that Hillary has faced are self inflicted or come after she re-invents history. Doesn’t she realize that since Al Gore invented the Internet, fact checking has become a whole lot easier? Oh, and let’s not forget that other neat invention, the camera. It has a way of capturing the reality of the landing and the party that actually met the formers President’s wife… (Well, her head is down in the picture…)
