Don’t Call me a Liberal…

March 24, 2008

BHO…The Progressive
Words matter, the meaning of words also matter. Barack Obama has forgotten one of life’s little lessons, “sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me.” Well, Barack has a few problems with some words. I will not re-plow the field of his middle name, that’s been addressed by many already, all I will say is that can’t be blamed on a TWP, that was his father’s doing. My issue is that Barack H. Obama doesn’t want to be labeled a “Liberal”.

Apparently that “name” will certainly hurt him. So when faced with a problem like that what do Liberals do? They reach into their bag of tricks and pull out a new word: PROGRESSIVE, that sound much better. Here’s what BHO said recently:

Obama, in an interview, said that “a lot of these old labels don’t apply anymore.” He said he was a progressive and a pragmatist, eager to tackle the big issues like health care and convinced that the Democrats could rally independents and disaffected Republicans to their agenda. (International Herald Tribune)

So in order to keep current with the “progression” of the aforementioned Liberals, we need to change a few of the “old labels” to reflect the new Democrat lexicon. Let’s start with how we track the most Liberal, I mean “Progressive” Senators, the National Journal’s 2007 Voting Ratings. They said of, BHO:

Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., was the most liberal senator in 2007, according to National Journal’s 27th annual vote ratings. The insurgent presidential candidate shifted further to the left last year in the run-up to the primaries, after ranking as the 16th- and 10th-most-liberal during his first two years in the Senate. (NJ-online)

He’s not just “Progressive” his “Super Progressive” and he moved further to the left (can we still say left?, I better check my Liberal Decoder Ring and see is there is a new term for left) nope, they’re still using that word, I’m OK. The bottom line is this, whether you call him Liberal or Progressive he’s still not RIGHT.

Hillary 2008…Home of the Whopper

March 23, 2008

Well, she’s at it again! As “Co-President” Hillary recounts her time overseas under sniper fire as she and Sinbad landed at Tuzla airport. It was described at “one of the safest places in Bosnia” in March 1996 and “firmly under the control” of the 1st Armored Division, according to the WaPo story by Michael Dobbs. The story is spun by Hillary like this:

Hillary Clinton has been regaling supporters on the campaign trail with hair-raising tales of a trip she made to Bosnia in March 1996. In her retelling, she was sent to places that her husband, President Bill Clinton, could not go because they were “too dangerous.” When her account was challenged by one of her traveling companions, the comedian Sinbad, she upped the ante and injected even more drama into the story. In a speech earlier this week, she talked about “landing under sniper fire” and running for safety with “our heads down.”

The only shots that Hillary has faced are self inflicted or come after she re-invents history. Doesn’t she realize that since Al Gore invented the Internet, fact checking has become a whole lot easier? Oh, and let’s not forget that other neat invention, the camera. It has a way of capturing the reality of the landing and the party that actually met the formers President’s wife… (Well, her head is down in the picture…)

The Real Landing…What! No Snipers!

That little girl, is she in a Ghillie Suit?

Hillary as the Messiah?

BHO & Gov. Richardson

With Hillary Clinton loosing support this week in spite of Barack Obama’s unimpressive attempt to explain how for 20 years he Saw no evil, Heard no evil or Spoke no evil while in the front row of Rev. Wright’s church, things are going from bad to worse for the Senator from New York.  Now we have James Carville invoking Biblical imagery just in time for Easter. (I thought S.P’s were all about the separation of church and state?) I digress, Carville has his shorts in a twist because the newly bearded Gov. Richardson just endorsed Barack Obama over his former bosses’ wife.  (Maybe he read the recently released calendar & papers from the former First Lady and realized that sleeping in the White House off and on for 8 years does not make you qualified to be President.) Like they say “Down Maine”, “My cat can have kittens in the oven, but that don’t make them biscuits!”

Back to Carville, here’s his take on the matter:

The reaction of some of Mr. Clinton’s allies suggests that might have been a wise decision. “An act of betrayal,” said James Carville, an adviser to Mrs. Clinton and a friend of Mr. Clinton. “Mr. Richardson’s endorsement came right around the anniversary of the day when Judas sold out for 30 pieces of silver, so I think the timing is appropriate, if ironic,” Mr. Carville said, referring to Holy Week.  (NYT)

Now I know James worked real hard to help get Bill elected back in ’92 & ’96 and he no doubt is quite close to Hillary and apparently, to extend the imagery, views her as messiah.  Whether it is out of fear or loyalty, he is backing her this time.  However, Mr. Carville, I know Jesus Christ, Jesus Christ is a friend of mine, and Hillary sir, is no Jesus Christ.  But I can see how Carville would lay the Judas card on Richardson, I just hope he will be as creative with all those former Bill Clinton supporters that are scurrying off the S.S. Hillary as it takes on water.  Gov. Richardson got to his life boat, and sat right next to John Kerry & Ted Kennedy (Now Mr. Carville, That’s Irony.)

Typical White Person…not this time

I don’t often come to the defense of Former President Clinton, but I do think he is getting some undeserved flack over the comments he made in South Carolina yesterday.

The former president told a group of veterans Friday in Charlotte, N.C.: “I think it would be a great thing if we had an election year where you had two people who loved this country and were devoted to the interest of this country. And people could actually ask themselves who is right on these issues, instead of all this other stuff that always seems to intrude itself on our politics.”

I think “Barry O’s ” team is a little too sensitive on this matter. It is not a Zero Sum Game where John McCain & Hillary Clinton are the only two people who love this country. Now I can see why he might be a little “sensitive” seeing as his pastor has recently been the focus of some very deserved critical comments about his “preaching” and fanning the race flames that will result in a problem for both the Democrat Primary and the election. But I don’t think you can tar Mr. Clinton with that brush, there are plenty of other issues that we can comment on concerning the former President & his wife, but I think on this one Bill should get a pass.

Chris Wallace… Not a “Fox”hole Friend

March 21, 2008

I can’t believe what I saw this morning of F&F.  The gang had Chris Wallace on for a promo of his weekend show and out of the box he dumps right on all of them for their comments & discussion over what Barack Obama said on a Philadelphia Radio station where he threw grandma under the bus as a “Typical White Person”.
Just watch, you can see Doocy getting steamed (When you get Doocy torqued off you’ve done something!” He was justifiably not Mr. happy this morning!

Watch for yourself…

“Look! Up In the Sky… It’s SUPERDELEGATE

March 21, 2008

Super Delegates

It looks like the Great Idea of Super Delegates may come back an bite the Dems right in the backside. In case it’s too difficult to read the caption in the image above it says “Maintaining the illusion of Democracy while Preserving the will of Democrat Leadership since 1982”. So, if Hillary out maneuvers Obama and by some combination of smoke & mirrors (Plus a few stolen FBI Files) gets the Super Delegates to vote her way, you’ll be able to hear the Rev. Al Sharpton scream all the way from Colorado.

McCain 2008… One Question

March 21, 2008

NEWS FLASH- We are at War!  Remember, we were attacked on September 11th, 2001. It may not have started like prior wars, but make no mistake, we are at war.  We  are electing a President who also carries the title Commander in Chief.  So, with that in mind, consider the following question:

McCain2008

This is not a time for someone with a learning curve to occupy the most powerful position in the world.  Just my thoughts…
